The First Blog of Spring

This seems like a good time of year for firsts, it’s spring after all. The boys of summer are back at Turner Field, all the number 1’s made it to the Final Four, and I’m posting my first blog. Now I’ve boldly added comments to Dave O’Brien’s Braves beat blog (not really boldly, they were weak posts laced with fear of critique from the blog regulars) all of three times. This is different though, this is ours. The wonderful crew over at Plexus Web Creations have gotten us primed to post on anything and everything in the world of teeth, Bravos, John Deere, Dave Matthews, Boston Terriers, and anything else that rattles inside our noggins.

It’s probably a little irresponsible on the part of the Plexus crew to give me a venue to spread B-Hallisms to more than the sympathetic inner sanctum. I have been known on occasion to produce a Manifesto or three. I’ll try to keep the crazy to a minimum on the blog for all our sakes (thanks to Kim, I’m really beginning to appreciate the distinct difference between really passionate and really crazy). What I hope the blog becomes is a responsible forum for an honorable profession and an insight into our practice.

While I’ll probably be posting a lot about the importance of occlusion (the way your teeth come together) and the challenges of implants in your smile, I’ll probably also be making the case that John Smoltz is the greatest big game pitcher of all time. You’ll get updates on Jordan (my eight year old nephew) as he becomes the next Chipper Jones as well Macy (my three year old niece) as she continues with her plan for world domination. You’ll hear about Brady (our six month old Boston) and our struggles to dial him down from the equivalent of a coked up flight attendant to the more manageable coked up Wal Mart greeter. Music, cars, and old tractors I have no doubt will make the rounds. I expect Kim and Susan to periodically contribute on anything from prevention to the best way to strangle your insurance provider. I’d like to have guest bloggers like world renown Pedodontist Dr. Roy Rockman (but we’ll have to watch him, he’s a die hard Yankees fan….but the acceptable kind, a Bronx native, not a bandwagon transplant) who can diatribe with the best. Maybe I’ll even talk my mom into posting.

Mostly, I just want this to be a fun expression of the office and an informative resource for our patient family. I hope you all think of cool screen names for your comments. I’m Slider29 when I get the guts/time to post on the BravesBlog. Dad, you might have to come up with a couple of screen names so people won’t think you don’t have a job.

Well, Hampton pitches tonight and we’re headed to Trenton, GA , our satellite office (the Pluto of dental satellites), so maybe this weekend I’ll write something about dentistry. I can’t wait to see how this goes…..

See you guys on the web.

GREAT FIRST BLOG! Any comments I make concerning this web site, blog or Dr. Hall's Practice are far less than impartial. His mother & I are very proud of our sons, Brian & Brad, our daughters-in-law, Robin & Kimberly and especially our grandchildren, Jordan & Macy. We watched our youngest son, "Dr. Brad", grow up in a very small community in west central Georgia. We watched him set goals for himself & then work hard to achieve them. We are so thankful for Kimberly and what they have accomplished through hard work and dedication. We think theirs is the best Dental Practice anywhere. You would expect my comments to be favorable, but I have heard enough comments by other patients and members of the Dental Community to have good reason to be proud. Congratulations to Brad, Kimberly, Susan and everyone who has worked hard to make Brad Hall, DMD the high quality, comprehensive and caring Practice that it is. P.S. - Tell Brady Granddaddy said Hi!

BHDMD#1fan, Brady says, "back at ya!"... actually he's just snoring. I'm sure however, if he were awake he would remind you that the more compliant you are with your cross arch elastics, the sooner you'll get your braces off. P.S.--Smoltz vs. Santana tomorrow...better get your popcorn ready.

Welcome to Athens, Brad! There are many excellent dentists here and we welcome you as another. Athens is a great place to live and practice and I know you will be an asset to our community.
